Program Description

The Vocational 护理 curriculum prepares students to apply for 许可 as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in 的 state of California.  Emphasis is on nursing care of clients with physical and mental disorders, health promotion activities of 的 nurse, human development and 的 application of basic nursing skills in 的 care of individuals throughout 的 lifespan. Once licensed 的 LVN may seek employment in hospitals, clinics, private physicians’ offices, and skilled nursing facilities.

The Vocational 护理 Program is a 12 month program that begins each Fall semester. This 37 unit certificate program includes required 课程 in 的 Fall, Spring, and 暑期班.

Program Completion

Upon successful completion of 的 Licensed Vocational 护理 Program, 的 student receives a Certificate of Achievement and may apply to take 的 National Council Licensing Examination-Vocational Nurse (NCLEX-VN) Completion of 的 program does not guarantee 许可.

A grade of C or better in all Vocational 护理 coursework is required to meet 的 California Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Examiners regulations.

LVN to RN Pathway

Our LVN program offers a pathway to 的 PCC Registered 护理 program. 如果你是 an LVN and have met all RN admission requirements, you may apply for placement in 的 LVN to RN Career Ladder program. If selected, you will complete a 6 week LVN to RN bridge course, 的n Career Ladder students join 的 third semester of 的 RN program. 如果你是 interested, we advise speaking with a college counselor early in order to best determine sequencing of prerequisite 课程.

A Grade Point Average of 2.50 or higher is required in 的 Career Ladder prerequisite 课程:

  • 001年英语
  • Microbiology 002
  • 解剖025
  • 生理学001
  • Intermediate Algebra 131 (Statistics 50 starting Fall 2018)
  • A printout of 的 current TEAS transcript with an adjusted individual total score 62或以上
